What we call the Global Challenge matters

W hat we call the Global Challenge matters. One widely used phrase is the global problematique.

The term civilizational collapse underscores the gravity of the Global Challenge, but that language and scenarios aren’t widely used in official circles. Collapse scenarios are widely deployed in the culture, including films, television, gaming, fiction, and some policy and scientific communities.  And, of course, there are whole communities whose lives are devoted to varying degrees to preparing for these scenarios.

The term community resilience focuses on how communities can prepare for all eventualities.

The term emergency planning attracts those who seek wider public acceptance.

OMEGA uses the term Global Challenge, but we embrace all the other terms.
