Yuvelis is a Colombian socio-environmental leader and environmental engineering student who has led several resistance processes and struggles against fracking in Colombia. She is a member of the National Coordination of the Colombia Free of Fracking Alliance and has accompanied movements for the defense of water and environmental rights of communities. She has been an international denouncer of the serious human rights situations faced by environmental defenders in her country and is also a Judge of the Rights of Nature for the Vaca Muerta case in Argentina, as well as a Municipal Youth Councilor, and winner of the 2022 Marianne Initiative award.
