Time

9:00 am – 10:30 am

On behalf of the Resilience Funders Network, Impact Trust, and Omega, you are invited to join us again on April 16th as we build upon the profound insights of our March conversation on the Web of Meaning and the interconnectedness of humanity, nature, and the cosmos in our march conversation.

Starting from the premise, advanced by the International Federation for Systems Research (IFSR) and the European School of Governance (EUSG), that at the core of our current polycrisis lies a crisis in governance, we aim to explore the intricate relationship between governance systems and the multifaceted crises we face today.

Drawing on the expertise and experience gained in their collaborative efforts, Louis Klein and Karima Kadaoui will invite us into a dialogue about the foundational role of governance in either perpetuating the global polycrisis or paving the way for a more sustainable and equitable future. This session, framed by the subtitle “What Stops Us from Fixing the Polycrisis,” delves deeply into the heart of governance issues, exploring how a shift towards more human-centred and ecologically mindful governance models can catalyse profound societal transformation towards a humanising society.

Through their visionary work, Louis and Karima exemplify the power of collective action and the importance of empowering communities to be engaged participants in their governance. Their direct experiences and the transformative initiatives they have pursued with Tamkeen, offer an invaluable, alternative perspective on how governance can evolve to better serve the needs of humanity and the planet.

This conversation seeks not to prescribe solutions but to facilitate a rich exchange of ideas, tensions, and questions that encourage participants to envision and contribute to the emergence of governance models that embody the principles of ecological civilization. It aims to bridge the gap between the abstract concepts of systemic change and the tangible actions that can bring about a humanising society—one where every individual’s well-being is interwoven with the health of the community and the natural world.

Join us on, April 16th, 2024, at 9am PST / 12 noon EST / 5pm UK / 6pm CET. Register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
