The Omega Resilience Awards’ (ORA) global partners are in the midst of their search for candidates for the second year of the ORA Fellowship. ORA’s anchor partners in India, Africa, and Latin America are currently seeking applications and nominees for the 2024-25 fellowship cycle that will begin in May 2024.
ORA is an innovative catalytic grantmaking program that was initiated in 2022, in direct response to the global polycrisis and the emergent opportunities to promote resilient responses. The dynamic new program provides fellowships, research grants, and media creation with the goal of supporting new models of thinking, leadership, communication, and engagement
The global fellowship program is rooted in the Global South and recruitment is spearheaded by ORA partners, Health of Mother Earth Foundation in Africa, STARTUP! In India, and AAdeAA/Colectivo de Acción por la Justicia Ecosocial in Latin America. Each organization has a deep understanding of the polycrisis and how resilience is created at the country and community level.
In partnership with ORA program staff, the anchor partners lead the fellowship search in their respective regions and choose seven fellows for their cohort. The fellows form a cohort with their counterparts drawn from within the region and they also join a larger ORA global community, including ORA fellow alumni, ORA research grant recipients, and the larger network of ORA, Omega, and Commonweal, ORA’s host institution.

“The inaugural year of the ORA fellowship brought together such an exceptional group of changemakers and activists. These creative, dynamic fellows are providing deep insights for how we move forward and navigate the polycrisis and create new models of resilience,” says ORA co-director Mark Valentine. “We are looking forward to having this next year of 21 global fellows join this thriving community.”
